The Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredulu on Monday. extended the statewide mourning he declared in the state over the dastardly killings of worshippers at the Catholic Church., Owo, Ondo State.
Addressing residents of the town in a statement which he personally signed that the extension was in honour of the sister governors of the SouthWest region who have declared a three-day mourning period in the entire six states of the Southwest in solidarity with the Ondo State people and their governor.
Akeredolu said the mourning will now end on Wednesday. During the period, all flags must continue to be flown at half mast in honour of the killed parishioners.
The Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, and all his colleagues from Osun, Ogun, Lagos and Ekiti States, had condemned the dastardly attack in strongest terms, assuring that the perpetrators of the crime would be fished out and duly prosecuted.
