A Civil Society Organisation the Centre for Human and Socio -Economic Rights (CHSR) has urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to upbraid the Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s alleged complicit stance on land grabbers onslaught in the state.

The group made this demand at a press conference on Wednesday addressed by its National President Comrade Alex Omotehinse and other stakeholders, on the recent gruesome murder of over six hapless traders in Owode Onirin market by police officers coopted by a named land grabber, citing a loss of confidence in the justice system of the state.

Families of the slained traders whose fervent cries have been unfettered justice for their deceased relatives, prayed the Federal Government not to treat the heinous crime against humanity with kid glooves; stressing that their dead family members deserves justice.

“We urge President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to caution Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu against the rising spate of Landgrabbers in Lagos state.

“We demand for the removal of the Attorney General of Lagos State, Mr. Lawal Pedro (SAN), and for immediate arrest and prosecution of Mr. Hakeem Abiodun Ariori,

“Because we stand against the massacre which is a stain on the conscience of Lagos State and when the government fails to protect, it betrays its people.

“While we stand with the families of the slained and other traders of the market and Nigerians who still believe that justice must mean something in Nigeria in this democratic society.”
It would be recalled that the horror came shortly after the illegal demolition of over 1,000 shops, carried out despite the matter being before the Lagos High Court.
One of the relatives of the deceased Seyi Akinboye ‘s Mr. Dauda Osokoya ( Elder Brother) recounted how he got to know about the death of his brother much later after the incident at the Ikorodu General Hospital.

“Our mother at home is currently Age 80, and we both worked to take care of her likewise his wife and Children. It was pretty difficult for me to break the news about my brother’s demise to her, for the fear of the unknown.”

He stated further, how the family went ahead to the CP office on Thursday, after the incident to report the Case and were promised that the murderer will fished out.
