An environmental management company, Serenity Parks Ltd has designed an outdoor scheme using a garden experience to draw families closer to nature.
The company, in a maiden edition, brought together fun seekers during the Ileya festival tagged Eid-el-Kabir Funfair at JJT Park, Lagos, an outdoor garden space with lush green lawn and airy ambiance.
The funfair which was designed to hold down funseekers who enjoyed travelling out of Lagos during Eid had all the trappings of recreational activities including the Nigerian rich foods and fabrics to express culture and lifestyle.
Underprivileged families and children were incorporated in the scheme and there were lots of mental and physical games in displays with various prizes won.
According to the convener, Dr. Jumoke Kassim, she explained that the initiative was aimed at creating a safe and enjoyable space for families, especially children to unwind after the Eid celebrations.
“Our goal is to promote bonding among families while exposing children to positive social experiences. Events like this leave lasting memories and help children learn to socialize. It’s also to give families who are less privileged the opportunity to experience these outdoor gaming facilities and bonding in the spirit of the Eid Season,” Dr. Kassim quipped.
Mr. Habeeb Lawal, the Head of Team for Alternative Bank and a key Partner of the event commended the organizers.
“The turnout has been impressive, and I believe that these kinds of gatherings go a long way in nurturing children’s development socially and emotionally,” he said.
According to the organisers, the next edition promises to have more participants and partners with cooking competition with focus on ram protein as a symbol for the season and branded kitchen gadgets and food seasonings would be won.
