Former Manchester United star, Patrice Evra has revealed the reason for his preference of former teammate Cristiano Ronaldo over Lionel Messi.

Evra, just like many other players who played with Ronaldo, likes the Portuguese star more than the Argentine one, even though he gets criticized by fans of Lionel Messi.
He said that Ronaldo’s hard work is what makes him special, adding that while talent is important, it’s the effort someone puts in that really separates them from others.
“Anyone might have talent, but do you put in the effort? Messi fans don’t like me when I say Cristiano Ronaldo is the best of his generation, but we shouldn’t compare them. However, it’s his hard work that stands out,” he said via Telegraph.
Patrice Evra saw Ronaldo grow into one of the top footballers in the world when he joined Manchester United in 2006.
The Portuguese star had already been playing for the club for three years and was gaining a lot of attention in European football.
Evra has played against both Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi to understand the paths both players have taken in their careers.
The Frenchman thinks that although Messi has amazing talent, he was lucky to be born with such incredible ability.
He watched his old teammate put in a lot of effort to become one of the best players in the world, which is why he’s considered the best of his generation.
