The Peoples Democratic Party’s House of Representatives candidate Hon Oluwaseyi Olowu has declared that he is winning the 2023 election in Somolu Federal constituency with a wide margin, as the rigging tactics of the ruling party won’t be possible again.

Hon. Olowu fondly called Chicago by party faithful and other Somolu residents made the assertion at the official flag off of his campaign as he led a rally across Somolu constituency to sensitize constituents about the need to claim their PVC and vote him at polls by February 2023.

He said that it is a fact that votes once cast are not subject to manipulation, “as it goes straight to the server, this time around your vote will count”.

“I have never seen this kind of crowd it is unprecedented, ever since I have been contesting this is the time, our victory is certain. We barely allowed them hold forte for a while due to their rigging tactics we took them as far as the court to recover the clearly stolen mandate but now their time is up.

“2023 February it is Chicago’s time in Somolu Federal Constituency, we will match them money for money, strength for strength.

“In 2019 we had rerun and even went to court, we are more than someone that will be enticed with pecuniary gains.

“We have never teamed up with APC and will never do that, because they did not do well, look at Saint fin bars road and many more other roads they are practically impassable ”,

“I asked them with this song, don’t you fear their votes?, when you bulldozed their house and chased Okada of the roads, don’t you fear their votes?

“I have never for once reneged on my promises, in 2019 when I promised scholarship, even when I did not later clinch the seat I still did it what have they done for you several years back? Give me your votes this time around you will all benefit when I get there.”

“No good road networks around Somolu-Bariga all they do is deceive us. In the market no good road. You can’t threaten us, in 2015 rice was 6500, now 35,000 naira, vote for a man of his word. We all ought to represent Somolu, but we jointly sent someone, we are not a coward we are going to vote them out.

“What we did today is a fitness walk we shall start ward round visit after this . They also had a programme today, but our crowd surpasses their own. PDP made a statement today, that we are tired of their poor representation.

Chicago accompanied by the Lagos East Senatorial District candidate Mr.Nicholas Adekunle Akobada also visited Olaleye market in the heart of Somolu to have a chat with market trader, seeking their votes.

He noted that the state of the market which he had known since his days at CMS remains the same, no new development or phase-lift in the market ever since, I am moved that governance impact is not felt here.

The marketer responded in the affirmative with prayers.

The Senatorial candidate however, said that having rose through the ranks, “I have at a point in life sold bread on the roads of Somolu we can feel their pinch, we have trekked in the sun and now in the AC, we know your pain so we will be dutiful in representing you, I will partner with Chicago to deliver dividend of democracy the Senatorial district.

“I am supporting him and also trying to project PDP in Lagos state as I am the Lagos East Senatorial District candidate, I am trying to tell the people that PDP is 100 percent on ground in Lagos state and that it is a different ball game entirely unlike before PDP is on ground and we are taking charge.

“You can see that we are just trying to control the crowd, if not because of manipulation PDP won in 2019, APC have disappointed the people that is a benefit for us.

“When I become the Senator I am going to present a bill on ‘ language slavery’, as we still patronize vocabularies in this country, which is anti development. The world over mother tongue rules and aids development but in Nigeria we borrow language.

“Also in this country once another government gets hold of power the next thing is initiation of a new project, that must have to stop, I will put up a bill that will criminalise that. It will also make it mandatory for any government that there must be continuation.

Meanwhile the official kick-off of Chicago Soccer Championship was taken by a representative of Hon Oluwaseyi Olowu, Mr. Adefeso Adebayo at the Shepherd hill Baptist Church football pitch at Obanikoro, as the first match between Young Lad FC versus Toriola FC commenced.

The Coordinator of the tournament Mr. Oshilaja promised an exciting match all through the two to three weeks competition, reaffirming the provision of adequate security and fixed cash prizes of 200,000,125,000,75,000 naira to the first, second and third winners respectively.

The thirteen teams with one already seeded out of all leaving twelve team seeded against each other to make six matches, the winners of which moves to the next stage.
