African creator monetisation platform Allurie says it has surpassed 300,000 users and 15,000 active creators, as the company moves to accelerate its growth with a new ₦600,000 creator challenge designed to spotlight emerging talent across different content categories.
The platform, which relaunched on January 29, 2026, has expanded beyond Africa, with users reportedly accessing the service from the United States, United Kingdom, France, Italy, Canada and other markets.
Allurie provides creators with tools to monetise their audiences through subscriptions, individual content unlocks, tips, gifts and paid livestreams. The company says it has also paid at least ₦50 million to creators during 2026, reflecting the growing demand for direct-to-fan monetisation among African and international creators.
As part of its latest push to attract more creators and increase activity on the platform, Allurie has announced the Allurie Spotlight Creator Challenge, offering a total of ₦600,000 in cash prizes and promotional opportunities to three winning creators from three different content categories.
The first-place winner will receive ₦300,000, while second and third place will receive ₦200,000 and ₦100,000 respectively. All three winners will also be featured in the Allurie Spotlight and promoted through the platform’s official channels.
The challenge is open to verified Allurie creators aged 18 and above. Participants are required to create and publish an original video representing their primary content category on Allurie, while also sharing the video or a suitable version on Instagram, X or TikTok and tagging the platform’s official accounts.
However, only engagement generated directly on Allurie will determine the winners. The competition will award one point for each unique like and two points for each unique and genuine comment, with valid views serving as a tie-breaker.
To ensure diversity, no two winners can come from the same primary content category. In cases where entries remain tied after engagement and views are considered, Allurie will make a final decision based on originality and overall content quality.
The campaign opens on Monday, August 31, 2026, and closes on Sunday, September 13, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. WAT. The final engagement period will end on September 20, with reviews taking place between September 21 and 23. Winners are scheduled to be announced on Thursday, September 24, 2026.
The challenge comes as Allurie continues to position itself as more than an adult content platform, despite frequent comparisons with global subscription platform OnlyFans. Its creator community spans categories including adult content, education, comedy, music, podcasting, fitness and wellness, sexual wellness, beauty and fashion.
Founder Samson Akindeinde has maintained that adult creators are welcome on the platform but are not its sole focus, noting that Allurie was built to give creators across different categories the opportunity to earn directly from their audiences.
Under its model, creators decide which content remains free and which requires payment. They can publish photos, videos, audio and written content, while earning from subscriptions and other monetisation features. Allurie charges a 20 per cent platform fee, allowing creators to retain 80 per cent of the revenue they generate.
The platform is also addressing one of the major challenges faced by creators across Africa: receiving payments from international audiences. Allurie says it supports local bank payouts in available markets and USDT payouts, while providing card and local payment options for fans where available.
Rather than competing directly with social media platforms for audience discovery, Allurie encourages creators to continue using Instagram, TikTok, YouTube and X to build visibility, while using Allurie to monetise their most engaged followers.
With more than 300,000 users, 15,000 active creators and a reported ₦50 million already paid out to creators this year, the new Spotlight Creator Challenge represents another step in Allurie’s effort to turn audience engagement into direct earning opportunities while bringing more creators onto its growing platform.
The ₦600,000 campaign could also help demonstrate how emerging creators across different niches can use the platform’s monetisation and engagement tools to grow a paying audience.
