Big Brother Naija Season 11 has taken another dramatic turn as Biggie has given Gambits Flora and Aikou an opportunity to regain their eligibility to compete for the show’s ₦160 million grand prize.

The development was announced during Sunday’s live eviction show after Big Brother introduced a new twist, tagged “Operation Release the Gambit.”

Flora and Aikou had earlier emerged as the first Gambits of the “Show Ya Sef” season following a viewers’ vote.

Their status guaranteed them places in the house until the finale, but came with a major condition — they were no longer eligible to win the grand prize.

However, Biggie has now put their Gambit status in the hands of the viewers, allowing fans to decide whether one or both housemates should be released from the restriction and returned to the main competition for the ₦160 million prize.

Announcing the twist, host Ebuka Obi-Uchendu told viewers that the decision was theirs to make, with three options available: release Aikou, release Flora, or release both housemates.

The latest development could significantly alter the dynamics of the competition, particularly for Flora and Aikou, who have spent weeks playing the game under the unusual conditions attached to the Gambit role.

Flora secured the female Gambit position after polling 29.38 per cent of the votes, while Aikou emerged as the male Gambit with 9.10 per cent.

Their selection initially meant that they could not be evicted but would also be unable to claim the season’s major prize.

The new twist therefore presents both housemates with a fresh opportunity to compete on equal terms with the other remaining contestants if viewers vote to release them.

The decision also adds another layer of uncertainty to a season that has already been marked by unexpected twists, shifting alliances, heated confrontations and multiple evictions.

As voting continues, attention will now turn to whether viewers will choose to release Flora, Aikou or both Gambits, potentially putting them back in contention for the biggest prize in the BBNaija Season 11 competition.
