WAEC, in a statement on Sunday said in terms of performance, 43,923 candidates (67.55%) obtained credit and above in a minimum of five subjects with or without English Language and Mathematics.

The body added that 34,878 candidates (53.64%) had credits in at least five subjects, including English and Mathematics.

The body said this marked an improvement from 44.29% in 2023, culminating in a 9.35% increase in performance.

WAEC disclosed that 68,342 candidates registered for the examination, representing a 20% decrease from the 2023 figure, but said 65,023 candidates actually sat the exams across 5,067 centres nationwide.
