INEC SET TO DISPLAY PARTIES CANDIDATE’S FORM EC9, August 1

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Lagos State has urged electorates to confirm or query the personal particulars of intending candidates from various political parties ahead of the coming 2027 general elections.

In a recent statement issued and signed by Mrs. Esther Emeh the INEC’s Head of Department,Voter Education and Publicity (VEP), the electorates are informed to make good use of the window availed by the commission by Saturday, 1st August 2026.

According to her there will be a public display of Form EC9 (Affidavit in Support of Personal Particulars) for candidates sponsored by political parties for the Presidential, Senatorial, and House of Representatives Elections on Saturday, 1 August 2026.

The statement reads, “In accordance with Section 29 of the Electoral Act, 2022, the Forms EC9 containing the personal particulars, credentials, and affidavits submitted by the candidates will be displayed for public inspection at the INEC Lagos State Office, Sabo-Yaba, and the respective Local Government Area Offices within the affected constituencies.

“Members of the public are encouraged to inspect the documents.

“Any person who believes that a candidate has submitted false information or forged documents may seek legal redress as provided by the Electoral Act.

“The Commission remains committed to transparency, accountability, and the conduct of free, fair, and credible elections.
