Welcome back to your Friday French learning edition by Monsieur Adekoya Abiodun Johnson, This week, we’ll help you speak like a pro by introducing 10 essential French expressions you can use every day. Whether chatting with friends, traveling, or practicing French, these handy phrases will make your conversations sound natural and confident.

Let’s get started!

1. Ça marche !

(sah marsh)

English: “That works!” / “Okay!”

Use this to agree with someone or say something is fine.

2. Je ne sais pas.

(zhuh nuh say pah)

English: “I don’t know.”

A simple way to admit you don’t know something.

3. Pas de problème.

(pah duh proh-blem)

English: “No problem.”

Great to reassure someone or respond casually.

4. C’est dommage.

(say doh-mahzh)

English: “That’s too bad.”

Use this to express sympathy or mild disappointment.

5. Je suis désolé(e).

(zhuh swee day-zo-lay)

English: “I’m sorry.”

A polite way to apologize.

6. Ça me plaît.

(sah muh pleh)

English: “I like it.”

To say that you enjoy or like something.

7. À tout à l’heure !

(ah toot ah luhr)

English: “See you soon!”

A friendly way to say goodbye when you’ll meet again shortly.

8. Je comprends.

(zhuh kom-prahnd)

English: “I understand.”

Use this to show you understand what someone means.

9. Tu peux répéter, s’il te plaît ?

(tew puh ray-pay-tay, seel tuh pleh)

English: “Can you repeat, please?”

Handy when you need someone to say something again.

10. C’est combien?

(say kohm-byen)

English: “How much is it?”

Essential when shopping or asking about prices.
