Gwagwalada (FCT), July 19, 2022 (NAN) A 20-year-old man, Kolawole Adeyemi, was on Tuesday docked in an Upper Area Court Gwagwalada, FCT, for allegedly stealing a bottle cylinder and N100,000.

The police charged Adeyemi, who lives in Kuyemi village, Abuja with criminal trespass and theft.

The Prosecution Counsel, Mr Abdullahi Tanko told the court that the complainant, Richard Dodo of the same address reported the matter at the Iddo Police Station on July 12.

Tanko alleged that the the defendant broke into the complainant’s car and stole a bottle cylinder and N100,000 cash.

He told the court that police detectives during investigation, recovered the alleged stolen items in the possession of the defendant.

The offence, he said, contravened the provisions of sections 348 and 287 of the Penal Code.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to the charge.

The Judge, Sani Umar, admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N150,000 with one surety in like sum.

Umar ruled that such surety must reside within the court’s jurisdiction and should provide two recent passport photographs to the court’s registrar.

The judge said if the defendant fails to meet the bail conditions, he should be remanded in the correction centre in Suleja, Niger State. He adjourned the case until Sept. 21 for hearing. (NAN)
